A month of Birthdays!!

Well July happens to be a big birthday month for our family. Zachary's was on the 14th and Madison's is on the 27th. We also have 3 grandparents, a cousin and a soon to be nephew as well. Zachary received a Toys R US gift card and a card from (great) Grandma and Grandpa Naranjo. That card of course contained $$$! So last Wednesday we took him to Toys R Us for Birthday shopping! I can't believe my "little" guy is 4!! He is 44 inches tall, 45lbs and wears a size 13 shoe!!!!

If you go to Toys R Us on your birthday you get a balloon and crown! With his money he bought the crane. The Thomas the Train toy (bottom of picture) was free with a coupon! The Transformer toys were from Travis's friend TJ at work. He had a pretty fun day!

Next, my Grandma Z is a fantastic quilter and sewer! She sent the kids each a package last week. They each got 2 new pillow cases! Zachary's has fire engines and Madison's of course has horses!! They love them soooooo much, as soon as they had them opened they ran and got their pillows!!

Okay, this is the last part of the post! I promise! Our internet was down for a few days and now I am trying to catch up!

Each year we have a huge party for the kids with all our friends! Most of our friends have kids at or around the same age so we do a joint party! There were pools, slip 'n slide, and of course food! It was also VERY HOT!

We had a Buzz Lightyear slip 'n slide. And Zach's friend Alec had
a pretty good time trying to figure it out!!

We had a pretty fun day! Thanks to all those who came!

Adventures in Swimming!

So we signed the kids up for swim lessons this year at the city pool. It's everyday for 30 minutes for 2 weeks. The kids got lucky had have a few friends in each of their classes. Zachary is in the pre- school class and most of the time they pretend to be wild animals in the water and walk back and forth from wall to wall.

At the end of class their teacher lets them jump in! This is the kids
favorite part of class! Zachary and his friend Verl will jump at least 10 times!

We put Madison in the level 1 class, which we knew would
test her water skills! The first day she would only put her face in the
water and today (day3) she was going all the way under!! Her
teacher is really good about making her face her fears
and tells her if she doesn't participate she can leave! We'll just say that she
now fully participates!!
She claims that the goggles made her brave!!

Ward Camp Out!

This past weekend we had our first annual ward camp out! We chose Hot Springs Campground as the place to spend the weekend. We had about 50 people show up which was a pretty good turn out. Here are a few pictures of the weekend.

The first thing Madison just had to do was collect "nature!" This meant
wild flowers, pine cones, and sticks!

The Ratnayake's were 2nd to arrive. So we sat around for
a while and waited for people to come.

and drag this back down with a rope.

Fun around the fire. We had thunder storms about this time
but they passed pretty quick!

I don't even know how many Madison managed to eat. She liked the
roasting part but wouldn't eat the roasted ones. This one was stuck!

Our friends the Sorenson's are HUGE Boise State fans. Brian went to school there
and grew up in the area. So Travis put his UO hat on Alison! We all got a pretty good laugh!

All in all it was a fun trip. We came home tired, dirty and smelt of tent and campfire! I think we will do this again!

Friends + Park = Fun!

Today a dear friend of mine came to town to visit! We haven't seen each other in about 5 years. She had only met Madison never Zachary and I hadn't ever seen her kids in person! Jill is such a wonderful and supportive friend. She now lives in Nevada and we both wish we lived closer so the boys could be friends. She is such a great example to me, a life long friend and a Sister in the Gospel!

We took the kids to the park for lunch or a "pickmick" as Kenneth called it! They had a good time. Zachary and Kenneth played well together, but they wouldn't stand still long enough for a picture! So here is what we got!

What are you doing Jan 2011??

Well, we are adding to our family!!! I am due Jan 16th 2011! The kids are super excited! Today Zachary told me that my baby was getting taller! Madison and Zachary both want a baby girl, and we really don't care! I have a feeling it's a boy but we will keep you posted.

The name war has already started! As usual Travis and I don't agree on girls names and we have come to almost even ground on one boy name. He likes Gordon! Not a joke! I however will not stand for it! We are only having one which was a relief! I have gotten over the morning/noon/night sickness so that has been a real blessing!


My mom and Grandma came for the week. I had made the kids Big Brother, Big Sister t-shirts wo wear to the airport. They didn't even notice them at first and I had to make sure my mom actually read the shirt! So here is a video of them as they were figuring it out!

Short and Sassy!

Today was a big day for Madison! She made her first trip to the Salon! It was an early morning. Her appointment was at 9am that meant we had to leave no later than 8:35am. If any of you know Madison she is not a morning person.

She was a little apprehensive about getting her hair washed. She didn't like having to lay back and kept saying, " I think I am done with this and I want to sit up." And while doing the nervous laugh!

What a Saturday!

This past Saturday was filled with fun! We went to the wedding of Alvin and Arlene. Good family friends whom Travis has know since he was 12! Sister Lines passed away a year ago from cancer and we have missed "Grammie" Shirley a lot. Well "Papa" Alvin met a very nice lady named Arlene and on Saturday they were married. It was a very nice ceremony. Also a good time to visit with almost all the Lines kids! So here is the happy couple and of course our goofball children!

On the way home we happened to drive by Krispy Kreme and the light was on. So I totally convinced Travis to pull over! The kids had never been there before and I thought they would enjoy a hot fresh doughnut!!!
